Community Projects Coordinator
Jasmine Newton is a Community Projects Coordinator. Hailing from the nation’s first Historically Black Institution, Lincoln University, she received her Bachelor’s of Arts in Pan Africana Studies. She spent most of her time in social organizations, tutoring peers in writing, and assistant researching with professors.
She also works part-time as Gallery Futurist at Rush Arts Philadelphia in Logan where the gallery connects the community to artistry and curation and provides a platform for emerging and established Black artists to showcase their work. Jasmine’s interests in Black culture and science fiction directly coincide with the mission of non-profit work, which is to imagine a world where social injustices cease to exist.
Through her professional and academic opportunities, she understands the importance of the intersection of community, imagination, and equity and plans to continue her studies in Black Culture exploring those concepts.
