Business Administration Scholars Coordinator

Melissa Jackson is the Business Administration Scholars Program Coordinator at YouthBuild Philadelphia. She received her BS in Computer Science at Chestnut Hill College and completed her Secondary Education certification training at Drexel University. Melissa taught high school mathematics in the Philadelphia School District for five years then accepted a math teacher position at YouthBuild. She taught Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Consumer Math and College Prep Mathematics. In 2012, Melissa was recognized by the House of Representatives as “Teacher of the Year.” After eight years of teaching math she transitioned into the Information Technology Business Administrator Program Coordinator. She taught Computer Hardware/Software, Business Writing, Professional Skills, Consumer Finance, Customer Service and Word-processing. After two years of running a successful program she transitioned into the Business Admin. Scholars Coordinator. Her college prep/customer service program is thriving. She belongs to the National Council of Teacher of Mathematics and currently the chapter sponsor of the Future Business Leaders of America Phi Beta Lambda INC.
