Science Teacher

Pete Celona teaches integrated science, research and math and also leads 3 clubs: Chess, Running and A.V.  Pete is entering his 8th year as a public school teacher and his 3rd one with YouthBuild Philly.

Pete earned his BA from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA, and his MA in Education from Alliant International University and SF State in San Francisco, CA.  Pete has also studied math and science at the Community College of Philadelphia, UC Berkeley, MIT, the Exploratorium, and the University of Barcelona, Spain.

Pete is a proud member of the National Science Teachers Association and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.

Pete enjoys gardening, drawing, cooking and yoga and once walked the 2,200 mile Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine in 186 days.
