Special Education Teacher
Richard Chalme has been a learning support teacher at YouthBuild since 2016. His interest in education was generated when he worked at a summer camp in Maine. He found a newfound sense of energy working with youth. Because of his new found passion, he decided to derail his current career plans of pursuing a degree in law and move to Philadelphia to attend graduate school at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. He hasn’t looked back since. Every day at YouthBuild, he has been afforded the opportunity to help instill the power of education and impart Jefferson’s ideals of lifelong learning in his students.
When he isn’t at YouthBuild, Richard can be found staying up late to watch his beloved LA Kings or Dodgers, traveling, going out to eat or admiring nature.
