As the 2024 presidential election comes to a close, we recognize that this moment may be met by various responses and reflections within our staff, students, and the broader community. In these times, I encourage us all to center the collective strength and unity of the YouthBuild Philly community. 

For over 32 years, YouthBuild Philly has stood as a beacon of hope and resilience. We have committed ourselves to empowering young people, building a strong and supportive community, and championing the values of equity, love, and justice. In times of change and challenge, our mission remains steadfast.

Love is at the core of everything we do as an organization. This love shows up in our unwavering dedication to creating a safe, inclusive environment where everyone feels valued. It also reaffirms our commitment to stand together as a community, facing whatever may come with compassion and courage.  

The broader national conversation may impact our sense of well-being and belonging. We encourage you to take care of yourselves, lean into the support networks we’ve built, and reach out if you need assistance or a space to talk. 

Together, we will continue to do the work that matters – lifting each other up, investing in our youth, and advocating for a future rooted in love, equity, and opportunity for all.
