Employees and representatives from TD Bank helped YouthBuild Philly students learn about building good credit and other consumer finance topics during a day-long workshop at YouthBuild on October 4.
Approximately 25 TD Bank staff came to YouthBuild Philly to show the young women in YouthBuild Philly’s Business Administration Scholars program how to use the bank’s new virtual Learning Center. In the process, students and TD employees discussed personal finance decisions and careers at TD. Students learned about what the process of building credit looks like, and why credit matters for their future.
After the workshop, students visited a TD Bank location in Center City Philadelphia to observe banking operations and tour the facility. In addition to the event, TD donated two tablets to YouthBuild Philly for our business administration students to use!
This activity was useful for our students as an opportunity to learn about personal finance and the importance of good credit, and also an opportunity to network and learn about careers in banking. We are looking forward to a follow-up mentoring event next month at TD University in Mount Laurel, NJ.
