At YB Philly, Thanksgiving is more than a holiday, it’s a celebration of family, friendship, and the power of community. This year’s Annual Thanksgiving Feast was particularly meaningful as we gathered in our new, state-of-the-art school building for the first time.
Beyond sharing food and gratitude, the event became a space filled with love, connection, and belonging. Students and staff danced, laughed, and created memories that warmed hearts and uplifted spirits, especially for those who face challenges at home during the holidays. It was a reminder of the joy and support that define the YouthBuild Philly family.
The event took place in our Community Celebration Room, which we transformed into a cozy and festive dining space, filled with the delicious aroma of home-cooked dishes. Huge thanks to our amazing staff, who went all out decorating and setting the stage for an unforgettable day.
And let’s talk about the food – it’s the heart of this celebration! Every year, our staff lovingly prepares their favorite dishes to share with the YouthBuild community, and this year’s spread did not disappoint. The menu was nothing short of legendary:

- Crispy fried chicken
- Mac and cheese
- Savory collard greens and cabbage
- Tangy cranberry sauce
- Mashed potatoes
- Hearty lasagna
- A dessert table filled with sweet treats
Every bite tasted like it was made with love – and that’s because it was!
Of course, the fun didn’t stop with the food. We turned up the music, hit the dance floor, and even gave away some exciting prizes to our students. The room buzzed with energy and joy, creating memories we’ll carry well into the new year.
We couldn’t have pulled off this event without our incredible team. From cooking and decorating to setting up and cleaning up, our staff poured their hearts into making this year’s feast a success. Thank you for going above and beyond to create a day filled with warmth, connection, and celebration.
